my name is Dave Mkpa-Eke, and i'm a self-taught software developer currently doing OSS at Margelo, an elite app development agency focused on React Native. I previously did OSS at tamagui / One, a comprehensive UI solution for React (Native). i'm also an electronic & computer engineering student at the University of Nigeria Nsukka.
i enjoy learning, programming, building mobile apps and playing football(or soccer for the americans). my interests span math, computer science, engineering, history, philosophy, geo-politics and sometimes economics, but i'm most interested in the comp sci and software development side of things - the rest are hobbies.
currently, i'm diving deeper into react native - native code, JSI, the new arch(or the arch?) all that stuff - and expo to understand how the internals of such awesome frameworks work while specializing in the iOS side of things(Swift/Swift UI), i'm also building some ai/ml powered stuff too(see Spendly in the projects tab). additionally, i am working on becoming better at open source contributions, I have made contributions to OSS such as Expo, Uniwind, Tamagui & One.
I also built my own open-source native library.
my main programming languages are: typescript, python, swift and c++. i am most proficient in typescript then swift, python and c++(which I'm actively learning) and my main technologies are React, React Native, Expo and Swift UI(which I am actively learning).
